Future Force · Cadence JROTC platform
- Serve as hands-on EVP and CTO: set technical direction, run a two-person engineering team, and write the majority of the production code.
- Architected and led delivery of Cadence, a multi-tenant JROTC education platform, from first commit (16 June) to a live production pilot on 1 August — 34 working days. By working day 69 the platform held 415k lines of hand-written code, 415 API endpoints, 115 pages, 95 migrations, and 4,400+ automated tests.
- Personally authored 86% of the codebase (251 commits, 70 merged PRs), delivering at 24× a top-decile unassisted output rate and avoiding an estimated $2.2M and five years of schedule against a conventional build.
- Shipped authentication and MFA, curriculum authoring and delivery, native web curriculum for four LET levels, assessments with a test bank and gradebook, rosters, portfolios, notifications, Stripe instructor billing, and an admin and support console.
- Designed and operate the AWS estate as code: 306 Terraform resources across ECS Fargate, Multi-AZ RDS, ElastiCache, CloudFront, WAF, and 20 CloudWatch alarms, deployed 198 times by a CI/CD pipeline built in the same window.
- Diagnosed and closed a production outage in one day, then shipped twelve reliability and cost PRs the same day, cutting monthly AWS spend 15% and eliminating 250,000 daily S3 requests.
- Brought the cadet-facing product to WCAG 2.1 AA and authored the district conformance report; integrated seven parallel feature branches and 410k lines of digitized LET 1–4 curriculum in a single reviewed merge with 4,500 tests green.
